On a crisp September morning, our team of 60 cyclists (including 14 tandem teams, 23 solo riders, and 9 marshals) took off from Central Park continuing the decade-long plus tradition at the InTandem Donut Ride. The brisk air opened up into a perfect sunny day for a 30 mile ride crisscrossing through Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan while fueling up with donuts (and bagels) and coffee along the way. New Yorkers cheered us on and snapped photos and videos of the team as we zipped through each neighborhood. The miles flew by as we chatted and rode from stop to stop. Days like last Saturday remind us of the amazing community we have, working together to make tandem cycling inclusive for all.
A HUGE Thank You to all of our supporters for the ride – InTandem Volunteers setting up our rest stops with donuts and coffee, Ciclistas Latinoamericanos de New York for marshalling, Doughnut Plant for the donuts and coffee, Peter Pan Donuts for the donuts and coffee, Olde Brooklyn Bagel Shoppe for the bagels, Donut Pub for the donuts and coffee, Doughnuttery for the donuts, and C.O. Bigelow for the awesome Herbal Comfort Relief Sticks. Also a HUGE Thank You to Brooklyn Greenways Initiative for the funding support and spreading the word, and to Transportation Alternatives for helping to spread the word.
Thank you to everyone who joined and made it a wonderful Donut Ride! Looking forward to 2027!
